Jean Bosco Mutangana is the Founding and Managing Partner at the Law Offices of Mutangana & Partners. He practiced law for over twenty years as a career prosecutor, rising to the rank of National Prosecutor and later appointed by the Government of Rwanda as Prosecutor General of the Republic of Rwanda, a position he held until November 2019.
By virtue of that office, Mr. Mutangana was Vice President of the Superior Council of the Rwandan Prosecution Authority and Vice President of the Superior Council of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau. He has lectured at the Institute of Legal Practice and Development, the Rwanda Defense Force Senior Command and Staff College, and the Rwanda National Police Academy.
He is a Ph.D. candidate at the International Victimology Institute at Tilburg University, and holds an LL.M in Criminal Law and Criminology from the University of Groningen, an LL.B from the University of Rwanda, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from ILPD. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Human Trafficking, Enslavement, and Conflict-Related Sexual Violence, and a member of the Rwanda Bar Association and East African Law Society.
